Rays strive to bring students, STEM together through scholarship support

They were engineers in the making whose lives eventually merged as undergraduate students at Tennessee Technological University.  


Free show to feature Jim Witter; US Navy band concert canceled

Witter and his band will take the stage for the WCU Friends of the Arts Annual Friend-Raising Concert.

Photography Services schedules sessions for faculty, staff portraits

The sessions will provide an opportunity for new faculty and staff, as well as returning employees, to have a photo made for departmental websites and other official uses.  


Students take advantage of scholarships funded through Nuclear Regulatory Commission

Participants receive $5,000 per semester for their junior and senior years and also agree to work in nuclear-related employment for six months after graduation for every year they receive the award.

Board of Trustees to gather for quarterly meeting March 1 at HFR

The board also will hold committee meetings and discussions Thursday, Feb. 28.   


‘Sustainability and the Environment’ takes over as 2019-20 campus learning theme

Sustainability is something that affects everyone in some way. During WCU’s 2019-20 academic year, it will affect students as the new campus learning theme.  


Teachers of the year for state, western region to give presentations

The event in the Grandroom of A.K. Hinds University Center is open to the campus community and general public.  


Center for Study of Free Enterprise kicking off 'Issue Briefs' series

The new research series will address current events in economics and politics in Western North Carolina and beyond, by subject matter experts from on campus and around the country.  


Hillon, Haskett represent WCU on All-SoCon Faculty and Staff Team

Two representatives from each of the conference's 10 member institutions are recognized annually, with each school making its own selections.
