The Engagement Scholarship Consortium will present WCU with its Faculty Community Engagement Award at its annual conference in Denver in October.
Action to fill the Kimmel and Madison distinguished professorships was part of the board's quarterly meeting Friday, June 7.
Awards were received in May 2019 for a variety of projects involving university faculty, staff and students.
The board also paid tribute to three of its members whose terms are expiring – Patricia B. Kaemmerling, Wardell Townsend and Grace Battle – and welcomed SGA President David Rhode as an ex-officio member.
WCU conferred degrees on 1,625 students who completed their studies, and a total of 2,940 students have been named to the dean’s list.
Ten students and their faculty mentors were chosen to participate out of 21 submitted proposals, a record number for the program.
