In this one-day workshop participants will learn about the importance of contracts in event planning and compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Key issues will be addressed related to working with other organizations and how to guard against legal matters related to fundraising, liability, finances and other potential risks. Professionals from varying backgrounds will also share their experiences including lessons learned and advise how to safeguard against what might go wrong, and how to handle the situation when everything doesn’t go as planned.

A case study review project will be distributed at the end of the workshop for those people interested in completing the certificate program. The Case Study should be completed and returned to WCU Continuing and Professional Education once all of the 6 workshops are completed.
