Program Description: The Master of Social Work (MSW) degree program prepares graduates for practice as social work clinicians, consultants, supervisors, administrators, and other leadership roles in their communities. The regular MSW program admits students in the Fall and requires 56-62 hours of graduate coursework including 1,032 field internship hours. The Advanced Standing MSW program (open to students with a BSW obtained in the past 5 years) admits students in the Summer and requires 45 hours of coursework including 672 field internship hours. Internships are available at over 80 sites across the state. The MSW program offers full-time and part-time courses of study for both the regular MSW program and the Advanced Standing MSW program. 

Location of Course OfferingsBiltmore Park and Cullowhee - MSW classes are offered on the WCU campus in Cullowhee and in Asheville at the  Biltmore Park instructional site. For details, please see the sample schedule

Application Deadline: Applications are reviewed upon receipt . The deadline for completion of Advanced Standing applications is February 1. Priority deadline for applications to the regular full or part-time program is February 1 with a final application deadline of April 15. Applications received after these dates will be reviewed if there is space available.
