The Elingburg Challenge
Climb higher through the Elingburg Challenge
Loyalty Fund supporters have a chance to take their gifts to the next level, thanks to the Elingburg Challenge.

Wes Elingburg ’78 understands the importance of the Loyalty Fund and wants to promote its mission of providing merit-based scholarships to Western Carolina University students.  That’s why he has issued a challenge and offered to match new and increased gifts to the Loyalty Fund totaling $1,000 or more.

About Wes Elingburg

Wes Elingburg started giving to Western Carolina University as a young alumnus in 1980 with a $30 gift to the Catamount Club, he has been giving to WCU ever since.  In fact, he has been supporting the Loyalty Fund for more than seventeen years.  An Asheville native, Elingburg graduated summa cum laude from WCU in 1978 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Elingburg retired in 2005 after 25 years with Burlington-based Laboratory Corporation of America, including the last eight as its chief financial officer.  He is currently co-owner of the Greensboro Grasshoppers.

Elingburg is asking you to join him with support to the Loyalty Fund. “I will be forever grateful for the foundation of education that Western Carolina provided me,” he said. “Providing merit-based scholarships will be crucial to the success of Western Carolina University.”
